CITY OF MABLETON BUSINESS LICENSING

All businesses within the City of Mableton should renew their 2023 Cobb County-issued occupation tax certificate for tax year 2024 with Mableton, with the exception of those businesses who made early occupation tax payments to Cobb County before December 13, 2023 for tax year 2024. Those businesses may continue to operate under their Cobb County-issued 2024 occupation tax certificate until it expires on December 31, 2024.

ATTENTION: MAYOR OWENS HAS AUTHORIZED THE CITY NOT TO CHARGE ANY LATE FEES, INTEREST AND/OR PENALTIES ASSESSED THROUGH THE END OF MARCH 2024 AS WE WORK DILIGENTLY WITH COBB COUNTY AND MABLETON’S BUSINESS LICENSE SOFTWARE VENDOR TO PROCESS AND RENEW ALL LICENSES.

Please note that applicants will be required to upload the following to the portal:

LLP Registration from the Cobb Superior Court, if the business is an LLP.
Their Secretary of State Registration Certificate, if a Corporation, LLC, LP or LLLP.
Verifiable ID, as required by O.C.G.A. 50-36-2 (i.e. Driver’s License, Passport). A listing of allowable secure and verifiable identification documents is located here.
A notarized Citizenship Affidavit (click here to download and print), as required by the Georgia Immigration Reform Act.
A notarized Private Employer Affidavit (click here to download and print), as required by O.C.G.A. 36-60-6(d). Employers with 11 or more employees MUST have a federal government issued E-Verify number. The E-Verify number (separate and distinct from your Federal Tax ID), also known as the Federal Work Authorization User ID, must be provided on the affidavit. For renewals (and attorneys/professionals electing to pay by gross receipts): Financial documentation (profit/loss statement, income statement, monthly or quarterly reports, etc., showing gross revenue).

Important Note: The person identified on the secure and verifiable document must be the same person signing the application, Private Employer Affidavit and Citizenship Affidavit.

Special Regulatory Permits

Certain businesses (special regulatory businesses) require special regulatory permits due to the nature of their business. These businesses consist of sexually oriented establishments, pawn shops, alcohol sellers and distributors, pool rooms, health spas, flea markets, precious metals dealers, amusement activities, peddlers, door-to-door sales person, mobile food vendors, firework retail stands, vendors, ticket brokers, special event parking, and all business activities listed under Cobb County’s alcohol/regulatory fee schedules F, R and G. Cobb County’s special regulatory fee schedules F, R and G are available on Cobb County’s website and/or in Cobb County’s business license office.

THE SPECIAL REGULATORY PERMIT TO BE OBTAINED FROM COBB COUNTY BY SPECIAL REGULATORY BUSINESSES IS SEPARATE AND DISTINCT FROM THE OCCUPATION TAX CERTIFICATE TO ADITIONALLY BE OBTAINED FROM MABLETON. AS SUCH, SPECIAL REGULATORY BUSINESSES SHOULD APPLY WITH COBB COUNTY FOR THEIR SPECIAL REGULATORY PERMIT AND WITH MABLETON FOR THEIR OCCUPATION TAX CERTIFICATE.
