Our Mission
Building Permits and Inspections
The City of Mableton Building and Permitting Division is responsible for administering and enforcing the Georgia State minimum standard code and related procedures for permitting and inspections of buildings within the city. Our staff will help you through the permitting and inspection stages of your residential or commercial project.
The Building staff reviews building plans and inspects all residential and commercial structures built or remodeled within the City of Mableton. It also issues the following permits:
- Building (residential and non-residential)
- Deck/pool/spa
- Demolition
- Interior finish
- Remodeling and additions
- Retaining wall
- Roof
- Trade
- Any additional permits required
Online Building Permitting Portal Permitting Process via Cloud Permit Portal
The City of Mableton accepts all building permit applications online through CloudPermit. The permitting process typically includes an application for a permit, building plan review, and inspection of projects from the beginning of construction to issuance of a certificate of occupancy.

Inspections Process
All inspections for residential and commercial building permits and land disturbance permits should be scheduled online here:
All inspections requested before 4 PM Monday - Thursday and before 11 AM on Friday will be scheduled for the next business day.
All inspections requested outside of these times or on holidays will be scheduled for the second business day.
GENERAL COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS (all projects):
• All permits and approved plans must be posted on site during construction.
• Construction hours are 7 AM to 7 PM Monday through Friday, and 9 AM to 5 PM on Saturday. No construction on Sundays or Certain Holidays.
• All inspections should be scheduled by the General Contractor.
• All subcontractor forms must be remitted before construction.
• Certificates of Occupancy & Completion must be requested 2 business days before issuance.
Inspection requests will no longer be accepted via email, text messages, or phone calls, effective August 01, 2025
